This fifteen-day safari links Kenya's Maasai Mara with Tanzania's Northern Circuit. You ease in through the Rift Valley, spend three nights in the Mara, cross the border into Tanzania, and then spend three nights in the Serengeti before Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire. There are longer stays in fewer parks, no internal flights and little backtracking. It suits first-time safari travellers who want depth, photographers and couples.

You drive through the Rift Valley and Maasai countryside to the Maasai Mara. You can see wildlife on the way to your lodge in the afternoon.

You leave early for the Kenya–Tanzania border at Isebania. After the border formalities, which we handle for you, you drive into the Serengeti with game viewing along the way, and spend the night at a tented camp in the central Serengeti.

Before You Book
Good to Know
- Border day: Day 6 is a long travel day. You leave the Mara early, cross at Isebania and drive into the Serengeti, so expect a full day on the road.
- Wildlife: Sightings can't be guaranteed, and what you see depends on the season. The wildebeest migration moves between the Mara and the Serengeti through the year, so tell us when you plan to travel and we'll say what to expect.
- Pace: Longer stays in fewer parks, with no internal flights. There are several long drives between parks.
- Optional extras: A hot air balloon safari is available in both the Mara and the Serengeti at extra cost.
- Flights: Fly into Nairobi and out of Kilimanjaro or Arusha. Both flights are your own and aren't included.
- Visas: You need visas for Kenya and Tanzania. Requirements depend on your nationality, so check before you travel.
- Health: Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended, so see a travel clinic before you go. Also check yellow fever requirements for your route. Travel and medical insurance is strongly advised.
- Where you'll stay: Midrange lodges, tented camps and hotels. Upgrades are possible on request.
