This twelve-day trip combines a short safari with beach time and culture. You spend two days on game drives in Tsavo West National Park in Kenya, unwind on the Indian Ocean at Diani Beach, fly to Dar es Salaam for a night and finish with five nights on Zanzibar, including a guided tour of Stone Town. There's only one safari park and not much driving, so it suits couples, honeymooners and relaxed first-time visitors to Africa.

Arrive in Nairobi
Your guide meets you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and takes you to your hotel in Nairobi. Dinner is included.

You drive southeast to Tsavo West National Park. In the afternoon you take a game drive through lava fields, springs and open plains.

You take a morning game drive and then drive to the coast. You reach the Indian Ocean in the afternoon and have the rest of the day to relax at your beach resort in the Diani Beach area.

Before You Book
Good to Know
- Pace: One safari park, two nights on the Kenyan coast and five on Zanzibar. Beach and Zanzibar days are free, and optional activities are not included in the price.
- Wildlife: Tsavo West is a large park, and sightings can't be guaranteed.
- Flights: The flight from the Kenyan coast to Dar es Salaam and the ferry or flight to Zanzibar are included. Your international flights into Nairobi and out of Zanzibar are not.
- Guide: Your private 4×4 and driver-guide are with you in Kenya. In Tanzania you have transfers and a guided Stone Town tour.
- Visas: You need visas for Kenya and Tanzania. Requirements depend on your nationality, so check before you travel.
- Health: Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended, so see a travel clinic before you go. Also check yellow fever requirements for your route. Travel and medical insurance is strongly advised.
- Where you'll stay: A midrange safari lodge, beach resorts and a hotel in Dar es Salaam. Upgrades are possible on request.
