This eleven-day trip follows the Swahili coast from Kenya to Tanzania. You spend three nights on Kenya's beaches, fly to Dar es Salaam, spend two nights in Saadani National Park, where the savannah runs down to the beach, and finish with three nights on Zanzibar. Travel legs are short, there's plenty of beach time and there's only one light safari park. It suits couples, slow travellers and culture lovers.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrive in Nairobi
Your guide meets you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and takes you to your hotel in Nairobi. Dinner is included.

Nairobi → Kenyan Coast
You transfer to the airport in the morning and fly to the Kenyan coast. You are then taken to your beach resort in the Diani Beach or Watamu area and have the afternoon free.

You drive north along the Tanzanian coast to Saadani National Park, where savannah and beach meet. In the afternoon you take a game drive in the park.

You start with a morning game drive. In the afternoon you can take a boat safari on the Wami River or spend the time on the beach.

Saadani → Zanzibar
You drive back toward Dar es Salaam in the morning and continue by ferry or flight to Zanzibar. You then transfer to your beach resort.

Before You Book
Good to Know
- Pace: Short travel legs and plenty of free beach days. Optional activities are not included in the price.
- Wildlife: Saadani is a quieter, smaller park than the northern circuit parks, and sightings can't be guaranteed.
- Flights: The Nairobi to coast flight, the coast to Dar es Salaam flight and the Zanzibar ferry or flight are included. Your international flights into Nairobi and out of Zanzibar are not.
- Guide: Your private vehicle and driver-guide are with you in Tanzania. In Kenya you have transfers only.
- Visas: You need visas for Kenya and Tanzania. Requirements depend on your nationality, so check before you travel.
- Health: Malaria prophylaxis is strongly recommended, so see a travel clinic before you go. Also check yellow fever requirements for your route. Travel and medical insurance is strongly advised.
- Where you'll stay: Midrange beach resorts, a safari lodge in Saadani and a hotel in Dar es Salaam. Upgrades are possible on request.
